Our partner ophthalmology clinics use the same FDA-approved laser platforms found in US practices — Alcon WaveLight EX500 for excimer ablation, Zeiss VisuMax for FemtoSecond flap creation, and Schwind Amaris for cyclotorsion-tracking refraction. Equipment is calibrated daily.

Many of our surgeons completed fellowship training at Massachusetts Eye and Ear, Bascom Palmer, or Wilmer Eye Institute. Pre-op evaluation (corneal topography, wavefront, dry-eye assessment) is included and arranged before you fly.

Are Mexican LASIK clinics using the same lasers as US ones?
Yes — our partner clinics use the same FDA-approved lasers found in US practices: Alcon WaveLight EX500, Zeiss VisuMax FemtoSecond, and Schwind Amaris. Lasers are calibrated daily and serviced by the same manufacturer technicians.
Am I a candidate for LASIK?
Most adults 18+ with stable prescriptions for the past year, healthy corneas, and prescriptions within range (-10 to +5 diopters with up to 5 diopters of astigmatism). Your surgeon evaluates corneal thickness and topography during your free pre-op screening to confirm candidacy.
What if LASIK is not right for me?
For thin corneas or high prescriptions, surgeons recommend ICL (Implantable Collamer Lenses) instead — equally precise and reversible. For patients over 50 with early lens hardening, refractive lens exchange may be a better option. Recommendations are always personalized.
How long do I need to stay in Mexico?
For LASIK: 3 days (pre-op day, surgery day, post-op check the next morning). For cataract surgery: 5-7 days for both eyes (one eye at a time, 24-48h between). For ICL: 4-5 days. All include a written discharge plan for your home eye doctor.
What about complications after I return home?
Every procedure includes a 90-day post-op support package: 24/7 messaging with your surgeon and a discharge summary for your local optometrist. Complications are rare (<0.5%) but if dry eye or glare persists past 4 weeks, follow-up evaluation is included at no extra cost.
